When a company appoints a new CEO, the photography tends to follow — updated headshots, a refreshed team page, new images for press and LinkedIn. That’s exactly what IDX needed when they came to me earlier this year.
The brief was straightforward: clean, consistent business portraits that work across their website, their LinkedIn profiles and any press coverage. The kind of images that look like the company they are, not the company they were five years ago.
What makes a good corporate headshot
Consistency matters more than most people realise. When you land on a company’s team page and half the headshots look like they were taken at different points in the last decade — different backgrounds, different lighting, different crops — it quietly undermines the impression of a coherent, professional organisation.
Getting a team in front of the camera on the same day, with the same setup, solves that immediately. It also gives everyone an image they’re actually happy to use, which means it gets used — on LinkedIn, in press releases, in pitch decks.
The IDX shoot took place in London and covered their full leadership team following the CEO appointment. Clean backgrounds, natural expressions, images ready to use the same day.
